This month’s art music video features abstracted images from a dogwood flower and a Hoya carnosa of the dogbane family. What I love about abstracting flower photographs is that any part of the plant can become inspiring, a color or shape that otherwise wouldn’t have proper design properties can be altered to highlight new aspects of the flower. The lime green color of the dogwood heart or the baby pink of a Hoya carnosa can be celebrated in abstracted images that may not be flower-like at all. This month the process I take to abstract and edit photography is displayed, a step-by-step exploration of each image.
The music featured this month by Andrew Valentin called Base FlowMaster moves through several musical moods starting with a gritty base mix and flows into thoughtful contemplation. Music available on request.
